Computer Science & Engineering is the Core Department of the Arvind Gavali College of Engineering. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in 2010, affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU), Lonere. The CSE department is originally offering a 60-student intake for the B. Tech. program. The undergraduate intake has doubled to 120 seats.Arvind Gavali College of Engineering, Satara, has introduced the M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program from the Academic Year 2026–27 having intake 12, providing students with an opportunity to pursue advanced studies and research in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. The department was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Committee (NAAC 1st cycle) in 2016 and 2023(NAAC 2nd cycle) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in the year 2023.
The department has all UGC approved faculty members. The department has well-equipped laboratories. With the growing demand for Computer Science Engineers in the Government and private sectors, the department is making the best efforts to produce highly trained and capable engineers who can take up the challenges of the real world. The quality of academic instructions, guidelines, and college activities are designed to produce competent and successful engineers. In the Department, the focus is on preparing professional engineers.
Over the past decade, nine batches have graduated from the department. Students have consistently secured placements in respected companies and also pursued higher studies at prestigious universities. We actively support internships and facilitate participation in national and international competitions, hackathons, project exhibitions, and sports events. Our students have earned accolades at contests such as Diplex, Avishkar, and Rotarex.
The department is well-equipped: we feature smart classrooms with interactive panels, modern laboratories loaded with industry-standard software and hardware, and other academic resources. Our infrastructure supports hands-on and experiential learning, vital for today's tech-oriented education.
For the extra curriculum activities, the Departmental Association (CESA) has been established by the students. This association conducts various technical and cultural events regularly.
